Healthy Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough Blizzard & Ice Cream

I have to admit that I love myself some ice cream, blizzards included! However, those are especially bad for you as they contain  "milkfat and nonfat milk, sugar, corn syrup, whey, mono and diglycerides, artificial flavor, guar gum, polysorbate 80, carrageenan, and vitamin A palmitate."-- ya pretty much a lot of stuff I don't even know what it is... so this is a healthier sugar-free, diary-free, and gluten-free but equally decadent and delicious!

And what's great about this recipe is that you can make any of you favorite flavors by substituting brownies, cheesecake, berries, candy bars, flavored extracts, coffee granules, syrups, spices, and whatever else your food thought takes you, as the possibilities are almost endless :) But I decided to recreate my favorite, chocolate cookie dough. For some reason cookie dough is not a big thing here in mexico and simply cant' find it in any ice cream flavors, so I was really excited to savor this guiltless special treat!
But if your not a fan of the soft serve ice cream of a blizzard, you can easily turn this rich treat into an ice cream by just popping it the freezer for awhile to make it not so much of a soft serve consistency-- remember this post, banana ice cream.

Oat Chocolate Cookie Dough Bites [Healthy Raw, Refined Sugar, Gluten, & Diary free] (makes 20-25)
1/4 cup ground oat flour
3 tbs flax seed meal
3 tbs water
2 tbs agave syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 tbs mini chocolate chips

Combine flax seed meal w/ water, let sit for a couple mintues to absorb water and become like a thick consistency. Add vanilla and agave to the liquid mixture, stir well. Add oat flour and mix until the dough begins to form a giant ball. Toss in chocolate chips, combine thoroughly. Take little chunks again roll in your palm. Note: this part does get a little messy-- if you feel like dough is too sticky, simply add a tad more oat flour. Place on a plate and store in refrigerator for at least 20 minutes to become firm.

Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough Blizzard: (2 servings)
3-5 bananas, sliced into coins & frozen
2 tbs chocolate cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla
chocolate chips
cookie dough bites
splash of milk (optional)

Place in frozen banana coins in a blender or food processor. Add in the cocoa powder and vanilla. Puree until it becomes like a creamy texture, you may need to scrape down the sides a couple of times, add a little bit of milk to help the process if you would like. Then toss in chocolate chips and cookie dough bites and blend for just a few seconds. Pour into 2 cups and enjoy!

Blend to break-up bananas.
Scrape the sides & continue blending.
Add cocoa powder & vanilla.
Continue to blend.
After a few minutes, the "ice cream" will become a thick liquid
texture & will blend together easy.
Add in chocolate chips.
& cookie dough bites, blend.
Toss in a few cookie dough bites to serve & now you
have it, your very own homemade healthy Blizzard!

Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough Ice Cream: (4 servings)
Same as the blizzard recipe, simply just pour the "ice cream" mixture into a freezable container and add in some cookie dough bites, mix, and freeze for a few hours (at least 3). Remove from freezer, scoop into a bowl, and enjoy!

Pour, mix in bites, and freeze for 3 hrs.
Result after freezing for awhile, firm, yet creamy.
Serve & savor over a guiltless sweet treat to beat that summer heat!
